Shred Days

Visit one of our Shred Days to keep yourself secure by destroying sensitive documents, compliments of Service Credit Union. Pull right up to the large shred truck in the parking lot to dispose of your unwanted, private documents.

Acceptable Items: Papers, folders, file folders, paper clips and staples.

Not Acceptable: Hard drives, binder rings, hanging file folders, pens, batteries, cell phones, laptops, floppy discs, CDs, and biodegradable or explosive material.

Saturday, July 12, 2025 – CAC Coos Color Run – Lancaster, NH 

The Child Advocacy Center of Coos County is hosting its annual color run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Fairgrounds. Service CU is a proud sponsor of the family run/walk, where participants will be showered with colored powders! All funds raised support the services provided by the Child Advocacy Center of Coos County.  

Friday, July 18, 2025 – 2025 Rafting for Wishes – Meredith, NH 

Make-A-Wish New Hampshire is hosting its 15th annual Rafting for Wishes. This hybrid fundraiser is open to the public, taking place in the waters of Meredith Bay, on land at Hesky Park, and virtually across the state. Teams will take on the challenge of rafting together for 24 hours, raising money towards Make-A-Wish NH’s goal of $450,000.

July 3-4, 2025 – Independence Day Celebrations – OS Military, Germany Wide 

Across U.S. military installations in Germany, service members, DoD civilians, and their families will come together to celebrate Independence Day with vibrant, county fair-style festivals. These celebrations will feature music, games, rides, fireworks, and plenty of patriotic fun for all ages. The credit union is a proud sponsor of these community events and will be on site at the celebrations taking place at USAG Ansbach, USAG Bavaria, USAG Garmisch, USAG Stuttgart, USAG Rheinland Pfalz, Spangdahlem Air Base, and Ramstein Air Base to support the festivities and celebrate alongside those who serve. 

Thursday, July 17, 2025 8th Annual Windy 25 Memorial 5K Run/Walk & Banquet – Ansbach  

The Windy25 events honor the legacy of the Windy25 flight—an Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter from Big Windy of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade—that tragically crashed in Ghazni, Afghanistan on April 6, 2005. The annual run/walk and accompanying banquet are dedicated to remembering the brave crew and passengers who lost their lives while on a combat mission. Service CU is honored to support the Windy25 memorial events. We will be on site in Ansbach to stand with the community in remembrance and reflection.

Children’s Museum of NH Military Appreciation Program

Service CU is proud to be the Military Appreciation Program sponsor for The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. From now until Armed Forces Day, U.S. veterans and active military, and their families, will receive a 50% discount on admission to the museum.

During the summer months, between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day, they will receive free admission.

United States European Command (EUCOM) J5 Directorate Family Day – USAG Stuttgart, Germany 

We’re proud to have supported the EUCOM J5 Family Picnic and Field Day, a fun-filled event focused on building morale and unity among team members and their families. The day featured a bouncy house, BBQ, and a variety of activities for all ages. We contributed to the event by helping provide food and field day materials, and we were on site with our tent, giveaways, and cornhole game to join in the celebration and show our support for the EUCOM J5 community.

46th Biennial Convention for the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts – Worcester, MA  

Service CU is proud to have been the Cancer Screening Sponsor of the 46th Biennial Convention for the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, supporting the vital ultrasound screenings their members received during the conference. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops and share knowledge and ideas, while building meaningful connections. 

Service CU was honored to fund potentially lifesaving cancer screenings for members of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts at their Biennial Convention.

Best Buddies Friendship Walk – Exeter, NH  

Exeter, NH played host to the annual Seacoast area’s Best Buddies Friendship Walk. The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. Service CU returned as a sponsor of the event, which raised over $67,000 towards programs that empower individuals with IDD to build friendships with their community, secure jobs, improve advocacy skills, and live independently.

Spangdahlem High School Adulting Day 

We were honored to take part in Spangdahlem High School’s Adulting Day, where students participated in a variety of hands-on sessions designed to prepare them for life after graduation. Throughout the day, teens explored essential life skills including résumé writing, interviewing, mindful movement, goal setting, car care, sewing, health and hygiene, and gratitude. As part of the event, we led several financial literacy sessions titled Real World Credit Concepts, where students learned about responsible credit use, including how to manage credit cards and auto loans wisely. They also explored how to create a realistic budget when making car-buying decisions and discovered the long-term importance of using credit responsibly to avoid falling into debt.

Granite United Way Day of Caring – Portsmouth, Rochester, Laconia 

Service Credit Union was excited to sponsor the 2025 Granite United Way Day of Caring. Through this partnership, employees volunteered at various activities across the state alongside their colleagues. Volunteer sites were located in Portsmouth, Rochester, and Laconia.

Landstuhl Fisher House Beautification and Donation – Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany 

Service Credit Union was a proud supporter of the Fisher House in Landstuhl, which provides a “home away from home” at no cost for families of military personnel stationed in Europe during urgent medical situations. As part of our commitment, we presented the Landstuhl Fisher House with a $5,000 donation check to help fund their daily operations. Additionally, 16 volunteers spent the day enhancing the grounds around both houses by weeding, removing leaves, and adding fresh mulch.

Great Bay Food Truck Festival – Stratham, NH 

Service Credit Union returned as the presenting sponsor of the Great Bay Food Truck Festival at Stratham Hill Park. Hosted by the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce and Stratham Parks and Recreation, the event featured over 30 food trucks, live music, and entertainment for the whole family. The festival offered a variety of cuisines, including seafood, gyros, tacos, sandwiches, burgers, crepes, ice cream, and desserts.

Sneakz & Geekz – Spangdahlem  

We were proud to support this unique convention-style event celebrating sci-fi, video games, pop culture, and sneaker culture. This vibrant community gathering featured a variety of vendors, interactive activities, and contests that engaged attendees of all ages. Our contribution helped fund prizes for the event’s competitions, and our team assisted with judging and prize presentations.

Month of the Military Child – OS Military Wide 

April is recognized as the Month of the Military Child, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience and sacrifices of children in military families. To honor them, various military branches will host outdoor community events featuring fun activities and special giveaways. Military children also received a t-shirt as a token of appreciation for their unique role in supporting our nation’s service members.

Americans Working Around the Globe (AWAG) Annual Seminar – Garmisch 

The four-day event offered seminars focused on leadership and professional development. As a diamond-level sponsor, Service Credit Union offered networking opportunities, financial wellness classes, community feedback sessions, and a financial workshop. Attendees had the chance to learn from industry experts and expand their professional networks.

Branch Collection Drives

Service CU is always striving to give back to the communities we serve, and one way we support our friends and neighbors is through collection drives at our branches. In 2024, Service CU branches hosted more than 50 collection drives, spent over $13,000 on wish list items and with our members’ help, donated more than 10,000 items to nonprofits in need.

All year long Service CU branches will select local nonprofits in their community and organize a collection drive of their most needed items. Click here to learn more.
